Most women that contact me, are super nervous about their sessions. They are worried about this or that perceived body flaw and how they will appear when I level my camera at them. This was not one of those sessions. No, Devon has been photographed before and she is one of the rare women I have had come see me, that is super confident in herself.
Here’s a short and sweet BTS video from my recent boudoir photo shoot with Nikki! Women like her are the major reason I love doing what I do so much! Nikki is a hardworking mom of a little boy and giving her images like the ones you’ll see in the above video is truly an amazing self confidence boost to give to a woman like her!
Author: San Francisco Boudoir Photographer Jason Guy | I can remember the first boudoir session I ever photographed. I was pretty damned nervous to be perfectly honest. Although those nerves have long since faded as I became better and more proficient at what I do, I always try and remember how I felt in those early sessions. I imagine this is probably pretty similar to how most of my clients feel at their boudoir sessions as they are photographed in an intimate setting often for the very first time.
San Francisco Boudoir Photographer Jason Guy - There is honestly very few things in my life that are as rewarding as helping someone change the way they see themselves. Today's post features my gorgeous client Nichole. Nichole was not optimistic that she was going to get images that she loved from her photo shoot, but she decided to go though with it anyway thanks in large part to her moms encouragement.
I see a ton of "boudoir photographers" these days with portfolios and instagram profiles full of models. Do I have models in my portfolio? Abso-freakin-lutely! The vast majority of the women in my portfolio however is comprised of moms and every day women that decide to come do a boudoir photo shoot with me to help them change the way they see themselves.
Mary chose to have her boudoir photo shoot photographed in a studio style setting. I really love to approach these sessions from a classical standpoint with the old renaissance painters as my inspiration. These studio style boudoir sessions give a very elegant and timeless feel to the final images which is something I really love. My intention with all of my studio style boudoir sessions is to create timeless final artwork, that will be as relevant 100 years from now as they are today.
One of the most consistent objections I hear from women wanting to do a boudoir photoshoot often revolves around how they perceive themselves physically. I've had some women tell me they would love to do a photoshoot, but they feel like they are getting too old, or that they feel like it's not a good idea because their body has changed since they were in their early 20's. If you're nodding your head yes right now to what I just said you should probably re-evaluate your mindset by checking out this before and after image from Laura's boudoir photoshoot.
I really enjoyed producing this boudoir photoshoot for Jennifer. I could tell that she didn't exactly have the highest hopes for what her final images would look like when she came in for her consultation. When I see this expectation in clients body language, it honestly really just fires me up to try and create unbelievable images that will get them to have that OMG reaction for their final reveal!
What if I could change the way you saw yourself? Most women I talk to tell me openly that they would love to do a boudoir photoshoot with me, but are hesitant because they don't feel like they can look like the women in my portfolio. The easiest way I've found to answer this objection honestly and decisively is to simply show them some before and after images from some of my past clients.
One of my favorite things about what I do is taking every day women, and guiding them with expert posing and lighting to make them look celebrities in a magazine. Alicia was highly skeptical that she could look like the other women in my portfolio, but I told her to trust me and just go with it. From there I would take care of the rest. Alicia did just that and took the direction I gave her super well! The results speak for themselves and Alicia got some AMAZING images from her boudoir photoshoot.
As a boudoir photographer I feel like I truly have the best job on earth! I get to show women how others see them under the best circumstances even when they might not be able to see it themselves. This is the strongest reason to do a boudoir photoshoot, to change the way you see yourself. This is my passion and what I do for my clients!
Summer was nervous about her boudoir photoshoot with me because she didn't want to have a repeat experience of being photographed for her boudoir session without any coaching on how to pose her body. I told her not to worry and that my makeup artist and I would take care of everything and make her look amazing.
Christine was openly nervous about her boudoir photoshoot before we started, however after hair and makeup artist Ducky Rickman gave her a full makeover it was all down hill from there. After her makeover, I coached Christine on how to pose her body and nail her expression with great consistency. Together we photographed one of my favorite boudoir sessions to date.
Every boudoir photoshoot is different and every client is a unique individual. I take great pride in being able to pose all body types to make each woman look her very best. Nichole was brave enough to allow me to document her boudoir experience from start to finish and you should definitely check out her amazing transformation in the video above.
This Boudoir photoshoot turned out exceptionally well and is among one of my most memorable to date. Terra took direction really well and she was beside herself happy with the results. Make sure and watch the video all the way to the end to witness her reaction seeing her final imagery for the first time.
