Dannielle's Boudoir Photo Shoot

In Her Words

"Astonishing doesn't say enough. His talent and professionalism are truly amazing. His work is stunning and every woman should have him do her photos. This is for you ladies. You'll feel beyond beautiful.

Dannielle Smith

I see a ton of "boudoir photographers" these days with portfolios and Instagram profiles full of models. Do I have models in my portfolio? Abso-freakin-lutely! The vast majority of the women in my portfolio however is comprised of moms and every day women that decide to come do a boudoir photo shoot with me to help them change the way they see themselves.

This session I'm sharing with you today of Danielle's boudoir photo shoot is of the ladder, and to be quite honest, I very much prefer photographing these types of sessions over test shoots with a model. The reason I enjoy these types of sessions so much more is because, to me, the pay off is just SOOOOO much bigger when I get to really help someone change the way they they look at themselves. Most of my clients are openly nervous and uncomfortable with the idea of being in front of the camera especially in such a vulnerable setting like a boudoir session.

As a boudoir photographer I believe that comfort in front of the camera is my job. I know what beautiful looks like and I can guide you towards it, and capture it on camera.

I listen to each one of my clients on literally just about every photo shoot explain to me how uplifting the boudoir experience is for them, and how they never thought that they would get images of themselves like the ones you see in this post. I do my best to bridge this gap and show women that they CAN do a boudoir photo shoot for themselves, and that these results are typical with BTS videos and blog posts like this. To be completely candid though, I don't think I'm doing a very good job of effectively conveying to future clients that as a boudoir photographer I will be able to guide you towards the best pictures you have ever seen of yourself.

I'm really not sure what the best way is to go about this is, but I think I'd like to try and do more live videos on FB and IG with willing clients to show just how I pose and direct people to get the images I do. Maybe better yet, I could do something a little more permanent by putting a video of me directing one of my clients on my website.

If you're reading this and the fear of not knowing what to do in front of the camera is something that has been holding you back from doing your own boudoir photo shoot, I'd love to hear what you'd like to see more of that I'm currently falling short on. I'd like to know why you still don't think you can do this, and why you think the women in my portfolio are somehow special examples. Feel free to comment below, as I'd love to hear your thoughts so I can do better in showing you that you can absolutely do this!!!
