How to Make Your Face Look More Photogenic?

To look more photogenic, the best thing you can do is to signal positivity and engagement when you’re being photographed.

Positivity comes from the expressions you make with your mouth. Smiling is always a good idea to look more photogenic, but not too so as to seem overbearing. Over smiling can also create more wrinkles around the cheeks and eyes so it’s best to keep it light and authentic.

Engagement on the other hand comes from the eyes. If you nail the smile but don’t smile with your eyes, your smile will come across as inauthentic. To signal engagement with your eyes, work them to a hint of a squint. Again, not too much so your top eyelid comes down or you’ll signal suspicion!

Other things you can do include:

  • Pushing your forehead toward the camera, this can slim your neck.
  • Use ring lighting or some other flat even lighting to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Place the camera slightly above your eye line for a slimming affect.
