These are the casual looks we captured from her maternity boudoir photo shoot. These photos were styled with casual clothes like her jeans and various tops to give them that Calvin Klein 90’s ad look and feel.

How We Styled Her Maternity Session

Aimee wanted refined editorials style portraits like something you’d find in a Vogue editorial. Ultimately she was hoping for an artistic portrait of her body she could print to hang in her home.

She loved the idea of a studio look on seamless paper but didn’t like the idea of really dark and edgy photos. She wanted them brighter and higher key.

Although I couldn’t help myself from going a little dark and edgy for some shots, I think overall we did a pretty good job of getting a good mix of high key images on white and mid tone images on grey. Some of her mid tone maternity boudoir photos almost have a flavor of the 90’s Calvin Klein ads.

About Her Outfits

Most of her outfits for her maternity session were re-purposed from her closet. Getting creative like this is a good way to save money and create really cute looks with things you already have.

For example, all of the shots with her jeans and bra and parted top were all things she already had.

The only things she bought for this photo shoot were the open front and lace dresses. She bought both dresses for super cheap on Amazon as she actually found it cheaper then renting some of the “fancier” dresses from the online rental services.
