My Sister's Swim Suit Photo Shoot
So I called my sister last month and asked her what she wanted for her birthday. The call went something like this:
Me: Hey what do you want for your birthday?
Her: A swim suit photo shoot on the beach!
Me: I can do that!
I'm fully aware of how strange it sounds to the casual observer to do a swim suit photo shoot for your sister. I saw this situation however as an incredible compliment that she trusted me to do this for her, and also quite frankly as an opportunity to demonstrate that I can guide anyone towards the best photos they have ever seen of themselves. I was so confident in my ability to do this, that I had no doubt I could do this for even my sister.
When I pose women, for me it's a very mathematical 1's and 0's thing. I look at the person in front of me, pose them for what I think will flatter their individual body type most, and so long as my equation is balanced and I check all my boxes, I get shots like the ones you see in this post. In my mind, it doesn't matter if it's my sister or any other woman, this system just works for me. I roll my eyes every time a client says she doesn't think she can look like the women in my portfolio, and I truly hope this post helps drive that point home. Yes you can!!!
Now before you start with all the ya buts, let me put all the cards on the table. Yes my sister is beautiful, and yes she has an incredible figure. That being said, my sister is definitely NOT a model and was directed by me to get the images you see above. Additionally, my sister (like many of you reading this) has insecurities about certain aspects of her body and was nervous about what her final images would look like. At the end of the day though, she was directed, by me, towards the images you see in this post.
When I showed my sister this video for the first time I think her exact words were
"Wow! I didn't know you were this good!"
At the end of the day, my sister didn't even think she was going to be able to look like the women in my portfolio. This statement after seeing her images really just showed me that I still have a ton more work to do in conveying to women that if you like the work in my portfolio, you will love your final images.
