Helping my clients feel beautiful is my top priority. At the beginning of Ms. S’s Sonoma boudoir photo shoot she wasn’t feeling beautiful. In fact, it had be years since she left her house wearing shorts!

By showing her what she looks like at her best, we were able to help her shift her mindset away from negative self talk and towards a mindset of confidence and optimism.

“I can’t recommend JG Boudoir enough.

When I first found Jason’s work, I was completely drawn in — every image he posted radiated confidence, beauty, and a kind of self-assurance I didn’t think I had. I admired the women in his photos but truly never imagined I could be one of them.

After sitting on it for a while, I finally booked a session. From the very first consultation, Jason made me feel completely comfortable and supported. He walked me through every step — from prepping, to posing, to coaching me through expressions — all while making sure I felt empowered the entire time. How Her Session Gave Her Confidence

At her reveal session, Ms. S shared how the experience changed how she saw herself. I hear this a lot, but then she said something I’ll never forget:

“I walked out of my house in public for the first time in years wearing shorts!”

That floored me. Why wouldn’t a gorgeous woman like her wear shorts in public? I almost couldn’t wrap my head around it.

This moment was the perfect example of how differently I saw her versus how she saw herself. This is why my goal during these sessions is simply to show you what I see when I look at you.

This is pretty much all it takes for you to start seeing yourself in a new light.

At one point after her session she even told me she felt silly for needing a boudoir session to boost her self-esteem. She asked out loud:

“Why couldn’t I just see it for myself when I looked in the mirror?”

For whatever reason, she couldn’t. But I love that her final images helped her see what she hadn’t been able to before. Changing how someone sees themselves is the most rewarding part of what I do as a boudoir photographer.

Body Goals Unlocked!

The idea that you need to lose weight before a session is one of the most common reasons women hesitate to book. I don’t take this excuse seriously unless, like Ms. S, they set a goal and commit.

I’ve always encouraged setting a deadline and focusing on getting stronger in that timeframe. It keeps you accountable and stops the endless “one day” procrastination.

To prepare for her session, Ms. S chose commit to a regimen of cycling to lean out for her photo shoot.

She gave herself four months and lost 20 pounds before her session. Even then, she was STILL super nervous!

Despite her insecurities however, she pushed through, and did her session anyway. After I showed her the back of the camera she began to believe and I could see her insecurities melt away in real time.

All her hard work had paid off and now she could finally see the beauty I saw when I looked at her.
