Every year women contact me to schedule a boudoir session as a gift for an upcoming holiday or birthday. Many end up delivering their gift late… Oooops. This post is here to change that so that we can blow his mind proper on the actual day of your special occasion.
One of the most common objections I hear from women over 40 is concerns regarding their age. I think these women remember themselves in their younger years and feel like a boudoir session is something that should have been captured years ago thus buying into the myth that boudoir is only something you should do if you are young any physically “perfect.”
When most women first discover my work, assume that my portfolio is filled only with models. With this assumption they assume that there is no way that they could ever look like the women I showcase in my portfolio. So not true! This post shows off just a few before and after images…
Most women that contact me, are super nervous about their sessions. They are worried about this or that perceived body flaw and how they will appear when I level my camera at them. This was not one of those sessions. No, Devon has been photographed before and she is one of the rare women I have had come see me, that is super confident in herself.
Here’s a short and sweet BTS video from my recent boudoir photo shoot with Nikki! Women like her are the major reason I love doing what I do so much! Nikki is a hardworking mom of a little boy and giving her images like the ones you’ll see in the above video is truly an amazing self confidence boost to give to a woman like her!
A heartfelt verbal complement is a really awesome thing that everyone really enjoys receiving. When someone shows you how much they appreciate what you do with an action though… That’s the kind of compliment that I love because I know its not hollow words but rather something authentic and genuine.
So I called my sister last month and asked her what she wanted for her birthday. The call went something like this:
Me: Hey what do you want for your birthday?
Her: A swim suit photo shoot on the beach!
Me: I can do that!
I can remember the first boudoir session I ever photographed. I was pretty damned nervous to be perfectly honest. Although those nerves have long since faded as I became better and more proficient at what I do, I always try and remember how I felt in those early sessions. I imagine this is probably pretty similar to how most of my clients feel at their boudoir sessions as they are photographed in an intimate setting often for the very first time.
There is honestly very few things in my life that are as rewarding as helping someone change the way they see themselves. Today's post features my gorgeous client Nichole. Nichole was not optimistic that she was going to get images that she loved from her photo shoot, but she decided to go though with it anyway thanks in large part to her moms encouragement.
I really enjoyed producing this boudoir photoshoot for Jennifer. I could tell that she didn't exactly have the highest hopes for what her final images would look like when she came in for her consultation. When I see this expectation in clients body language, it honestly really just fires me up to try and create unbelievable images that will get them to have that OMG reaction for their final reveal!
