Boudoir Photos For Wedding

Boudoir Photos For Wedding

Wedding Boudoir Photos

Most women that contact me, are super nervous about having boudoir photos captured for their wedding. They are worried about a myriad of perceived body flaws and how they will appear in their final photos. This was not one of those sessions.

Devon has been photographed before and was more comfortable in front of the camera then most of my clients. Her reason for doing her photo shoot was because she wanted to document her beauty and give her fiance the ultimate wedding gift. With this in mind she thought a bridal boudoir photo shoot would be the perfect thing to give him.

Sexy Wedding Photos

I knew pretty early on that this was going to be an exceptional session based on the way Devon was accepting my direction. As I do with all my clients, I also played off her cues and took note of the naturally beautiful things she’d do in between shots. Often times women won’t know what the sexy thing they just did was, so I’ll point it out to them and recreate the moment with good light and finessed posing.

Basically once my hair and makeup artist Ducky finished enhancing Devon’s features, there was no way I wasn’t going to get sexy wedding photos for her. Devon was worried about having RBF (otherwise known as resting bitch face) in her final photos, but after giving her some basic body language tips, and a touch of direction everything fell perfectly into place.

Preparing for Your Wedding Boudoir Photo Shoot

In addition to the wonderful dynamic Devon and I had, she had also prepared super well for her photo shoot. She had even taken the time to enhance her bedroom for her photo shoot!

Using Pinterest as a discovery tool, she found some fantastic ideas to spice up her space. The sheer drapes with the LED lights above her bed in particular made for some super dynamic portraits I’m really happy with.

Also note the Himalayan salt lamp on her end table. The big take away you should note here is that background lights are almost always a good thing. Lights add background interest to your photos and are a cheap, effective way to make your home a better place to have your bridal boudoir photos captured.

Another super cool diy decoration in her bedroom was this paper mache tree thing she had made to look like it was growing into her wall. She again accentuated it using string lights. By shifting my perspective in her bedroom just a little bit and changing into a different outfit, we were able to create a totally different look in almost exactly the same place as the red lingerie photos.

Her decorating ideas really added an authentic cozy element to her final images you don’t see much in locations you rent. Her session is a great example of how awesome bridal boudoir photos at your home can be, given a little effort and forethought.

Bridal Boudoir Lingerie

Devon had definitely taken advantage of the advice I give in my boudoir guide and executed on it really well. Although a good portion of her session was nude, I could tell she put a lot of thought into the lingerie she picked out. She told me that the lingerie tips section of the boudoir guide in particular really helped her choose better outfits for her specific body type.

The main idea behind the bridal boudoir outfit ideas section of the guide is to help you play to your strengths and downplay any insecurities you might have. Although Devon felt pretty confident about her body, every figure can be embellished using the right lingerie. I especially like this black corset and garter set she picked out to enhance her hour glass shape and play to her dark features.

Nude Wedding Photos

Devon’s decorating and lingerie choices weren’t the only things that made her photo shoot a success. In addition to everything mentioned above, she had also opted to get a spray tan from Clean Smooth Skin to even out her tan lines and skin tone.

Correcting tan lines is especially important when capturing nude wedding photos. Getting things as close to perfect in camera is always better practice than trying to edit out flaws later. Simply put, it’s way cheaper and you’ll get higher quality photos if you even out your tan before your photo shoot. You can learn more about how to correct tan lines before your photo shoot in my pre session tips post.
